Guppy Fish: The Complete Guide

Guppy fish, also known as gappi or gappy fish, are small, colorful freshwater fish that belong to the Poeciliidae family. They are known for their vibrant colors, long fins, and unique patterns, making them popular choices for aquarium enthusiasts. Guppies are livebearers, meaning they give birth to live young instead of laying eggs. They are relatively easy to care for and are known for their active and playful nature.

Guppy fish are social creatures and should ideally be kept in groups of at least four to six individuals to prevent stress and promote natural behavior. When setting up an aquarium for guppies, it is important to provide plenty of plants and hiding spots to mimic their natural habitat. The tank should be well-filtered and maintained at a temperature between 72-82°F (22-28°C). Guppies are relatively small fish, so a tank size of at least 10 gallons is recommended for a small group of guppies.

Guppy fish are omnivores and have a varied diet that includes high-quality flake or pellet food, live or frozen foods such as bloodworms, brine shrimp, and daphnia, as well as vegetable matter like blanched peas or zucchini.
